The 39 Steps : Another run-away success for 'Colin's Cinema'
The capacity audience of over 100 enjoyed a community event in the Village Hall on Friday 5th April, featuring a showing of the black and white film "The 39 Steps' - one of Alfred Hitchcock's first classic films starring Robert Donat and Madeleine Carroll.
Wonderful musical accompaniment was provided by Gerald Mack on the piano; entertaining us before the film, during the interval and while tea and fancies were being served; and then of course at the end of the film, adding a touch of hollywood glamour to the evening.
A big thank you must go to the team of many helpers who made it all possible. The showing of these classic films in the village hall is gaining in popularity following on from It's a Wonderful Life, Casablanca and Brief Encounter amongst others.
Although not the primary aim, £560 was raised which will be donated to North West Air Ambulance.
We will eagerly await Colin's next cinematic classic!
